In Lebanon, a monument to General Soleimani

the Monument to the commander of the special forces, “al-Quds,” the Iranian IRGC General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. missile strike in early January in Baghdad, was opened on Sunday, February 16, in southern Lebanon.

the Monument Soleimani put on the initiative of the Shiite party “Hezbollah”. Its leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah spoke Sunday at a mass rally in the southern outskirts of Beirut. He, in particular, said that the killing of the General was “a direct challenge to the forces that oppose the plans of America and Israel in the middle East”.

Murder Soleimani Nasrallah called the “barbaric violence”. He said that the US President Donald trump has announced the Middle East war. “The only answer in such a situation can only be widespread popular resistance”, — quotes the words of the party leader TASS.

the opening of the monument Soleimani was timed to the Day of the fallen military commanders of the resistance forces, which the supporters of Hezbollah celebrate February 16.

In January, the Ministry of culture of Iraq was allowed to erect a monument Soleimani on the place of his death — near the airport of Baghdad. But in Iran, the day when he was killed by General (January 3), was declared the International day of resistance.
