Kiev wants to seek the return of uncontrolled territories in Donbas until the end of the year, but there is a plan "B" if this does not happen, said Thursday the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

Earlier, Deputy head of the Pro-presidential faction "public Servant" in Parliament, Alexander Kornienko said that he expects that the elections in Ukraine uncontrolled part of Donbass will be held simultaneously with local elections scheduled for October 25.

"To the end of the year we intend to do everything we can, and intensification of the work of the trilateral contact group – proof. But we have a plan "B": what we do, if it be so; what we’re doing, if it be so", – quotes Agency Ermak "RBC-Ukraine".

He said, the Agency wrote that the government wanted to hold local elections in October, including on uncontrollable Kiev territories, but only under certain conditions. "the Necessary control over the border, perhaps in conjunction with international institutions, need security and only then elections" said Yermak.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking in February at the Munich security conference, announced the intention to hold in October local elections across Ukrainian territory, including uncontrolled Kiev areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

The contact group on the Donbas in Minsk earlier agreed "formula Steinmeier" that determines the order of entry into force of the law on the special status of the region. After approval of the formula in the Ukrainian capital and several other cities held rallies of opponents of this decision of Kiev.
