A 43-year-old man was shot dead in a car workshop in Hanover. According to a spokeswoman for the authorities on Monday, the police arrested two suspects after “very precise testimonies”. The age of the two men was initially unclear, as was the motive and other backgrounds.

According to “Bild”, the dead man is a Ukrainian who has been living in Germany for years. The perpetrators are also said to be Ukrainian nationals.

A firearm was found nearby. According to previous knowledge, the 43-year-old was shot inside the car dealership in the Ledeburg district, and the man died. It is unclear whether one or two shots were fired – the witness statements differed.

The permanent criminal service is in action, the evidence is being secured, said the spokeswoman. A sniffer dog was also used – for example, to find objects that the suspected shooter had thrown away while fleeing.
