In the Hagia Sophia for the first time in 86 years the Muslims performed morning prayer in honor of the feast of the sacrifice Eid al-Adha (and the Arab tradition of Eid-al-Adha). This was reported by the TV channel, Sabah.
It is noted that in the former the Christian Church gathered thousands of followers of Islam.
Prayer was held by the head of Department on religion Affairs of Turkey Ali Erbas.
The prayer was also attended by the speaker of the Parliament Mustafa Sentop, Minister of transport and infrastructure Adil Karaosmanoglu, the provincial Governor of Istanbul Ali Erika and the mayor of Fatih province of Istanbul Mehmet ergün Turan.
