Poland is not configured “hard against Russia,” said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. However, he added that Warsaw does not like projects like “Nord stream – 2”, but for him, the Polish authorities criticized both the Russian Federation, and Germany. He also expressed the view that Europe will pay for Russian weapons, buying gas from Russia.

The head of government of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki said that his country had no anti-Russian sentiment, and Warsaw criticizes the policies of any countries, specific actions which she doesn’t like. It is reported portal Biznes Alert.

“I do not believe that we have in Poland a fierce anti-Russian rhetoric. However, there are some issues that we don’t like, for example, “Nord stream — 2″,” — stressed the Polish Prime Minister.

According to him, Poland is not like the position of Germany on the SP-2. But even within the ruling party in Poland (“law and justice” — approx. “Газеты.Ru”) there is disagreement about this. However, the “Nord stream — 2” for Polish leadership is “unacceptable” project.

Morawiecki said that the money from Europe for the pipeline will go on creation of Russian weapons. In addition, Moscow will be able to “cut” Ukraine from gas supplies to EU countries and “to do with the country whatever they want”. This probability is Poland don’t like.

On the eve of the Polish Antimonopoly regulator UOKiK has decided to fine the Russian gas Corporation “Gazprom” in the amount of PLN 213 million — more than €50 million In causes of fine in the documents of the Agency indicated “the lack of cooperation in the case of the “Nord stream – 2”. UOKiK stated that the partnership agreement with the European companies — Shell, OMV, Wintershall, Engie, Uniper – for the construction of the SP-2 was concluded to circumvent the rules of antitrust law.

Russia and Germany, the banks of which connects the TRANS-Baltic gas pipeline, has repeatedly stressed that “Nord stream – 2” is not a political but a purely economic project. However, Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine and the United States regularly criticize the SP-2, comparing it with the “dagger” which is threatening European energy security.

America wants to put its liquefied natural gas to Europe— the tankers of the US has already shipped natural gas from overseas in the Polish ports.

In early July, the Minister of defence of Germany Annegret Kramp-of Karrenbauer responded to criticism due to the construction of Russian gas pipeline “Nord stream – 2”. According to her, claims to the pipeline can be divided into three points.

First, critics believe that the “Nord stream – 2” will increase Europe’s dependence on Russian natural gas. On this crump, Karrenbauer said that the EU is diversification of gas supplies and develop alternative and whobrowseme energy sources.

Secondly, Russia will reportedly use the proceeds from gas exports to strengthen the defense. In answering this item, the Minister noted that “it’s not only in the “Nord stream – 2”.

In addition, the construction of the pipeline invokes claims of “legitimate interests” in the security of Ukraine, Poland and some other countries in the implementation of the project. Crump, Karrenbauer said that Germany considers the interests of Eastern European countries in the negotiations on the draft.

The construction of “Nord stream – 2” was suspended due to the imposition of the United States in December 2019 sanctions against contractors of the pipeline. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in January 2020, the pipeline will be completed by Russian forces, but the construction will be completed several months later than planned.

On 7 July, the Ambassador of Germany in Russia géza Andreas von Geir also said that the construction of the pipeline will be completed, “even with the delay”. He also added that the draft us sanctions against the countries-participants of the project did not affect the attitude of the German authorities to the pipeline.

I should add also that amid the withdrawal of American troops from Germany, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw hopes to transfer these parts from Germany to Poland. Soon after President of Poland, Andrzej Duda was hosted by the White house. The meeting was held on 24 June, and during a joint press conference, he hinted at the Warsaw’s desire to take derived from the German soldiers.

“I must admit that I turned to the President from Europe, the American forces led. The American presence for Europe after the Second world war – a guarantee of security. When someone asks me whether Poland is ready to accept more American soldiers, I answer that they are ready,” — said the Polish President.

The trump had earlier said that withdrawal of troops from Germany, because the Germans are cooperating with the Russians on the “Nord stream – 2” and undermine the defense capabilities of NATO.
