the Archaeologists during the excavation in Shaanxi province in Northwest China found a well-preserved, large family burial of the ancient Chinese official who occupied an important post at the court of the sui dynasty (581-618 years).

About the opening with reference to the statement of the provincial Institute of Shaanxi archaeology reports Archaeology News Network. Large family cemetery consists of seven graves, which are surrounded by a large square moat.

It is located in a village near XI’an, the provincial capital. The total area of the family necropolis is more than 20 thousand square meters. Its length is about 147 meters and a width of about 138 meters. In terms of the area it is a family plot is the largest of its kind.

the largest tomb belonged to the head of the family, whose identity scientists have managed to establish. They believe that in this tomb was buried Wang Shao – a senior military official of the southern and Northern dynasties (420-589 gg.). He occupied an important post during the reign of the Emperor Wendy, the representative of the subsequent sui dynasty.

According to archaeologists Min Lee, in the tomb of Wang Shao was found a total of 67 various ritual objects, including figurines of soldiers, figurines of pigs and chickens, as well as figurines of mythical creatures, which scientists call the guardians of the tomb.

On one wall was almost erased over time, the remnants of the epitaph, probably dedicated to the life and death of Wang Shao. Unfortunately, the inscriptions are in bad condition. To restore and decipher their scientists have not yet succeeded.

According to Ming Li, the results obtained will enrich the archaeological data to explore the characteristics of family cemeteries and the rules and customs of burial of that time period.
