50 persons are infected with the corona virus on the nuclear powered French aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle”.

The large French aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle” has been hit by an outbreak of the corona virus among the crew.

Thus, 50 persons on board have been confirmed infected with the virus.

It informs the ministry of France’s armed forces on Friday in a statement.

Three of the infected crew members have been evacuated by helicopter to a military hospital in Toulon in southern France.

“Charles de Gaulle” is over 260 metres long and thus one of the world’s largest warships. It is nuclear-powered and weighing 40,000 tonnes.
