“we had discussions with the Federation of hockey of Canada. There was supposed to be Japan’s national team, and we decided it’s too risky to hold this tournament, so took the decision on its cancellation. We discussed whether we could hold it next year, but so far no concrete decisions”, – said the President of the IIHF Rene Fasel TASS.

the Tournament was to be held in two canadian cities – Halifax and Truro. Halifax 12 years ago, took game of the men’s world Cup victory for team Russia. His title in Canada was preparing to defend team USA, which won the last five tournaments.
