Google has signed agreements with three publishing houses from Germany, Australia and Brazil on the payments for the content they provide. This is the first license agreement of Google with publishers, the media, the company promises that in the future the number of such agreements will increase. Publishing houses from different countries have long demanded that Internet companies pay for using their content. On Thursday, Google announced the conclusion of license agreements with three publishing houses, the Corporation will pay them for the content published by them and provided in Google news. Google agreed with the German publishing house SPIEGEL Group, which publishes the eponymous magazine and a number of other media, the Brazilian media Corporation Diarios Associados, as well as the Australian Solstice Media, which publishes a number of regional Newspapers in the country. Although so far such agreements have been concluded only with a limited number of publishing houses, the current solution is Google has become quite a significant step in the conflict between Internet Corporation and the media in different countries. For many years the publishing house worldwide, especially in Europe, sharply criticized Google because it uses their content, for example, showing entire pieces of articles in search engine results, and not pay for it. A similar claim publishers Express and address Facebook. Among the most active critics of the Internet Corporation media Mogul Rupert Murdoch, founder of News Corp and 21st Century Fox. He has repeatedly stated that Internet companies should pay publishers for the content used.Back in early 2010-ies of the publishers from several European countries — among them Belgium, France and Germany — have filed a lawsuit and appealed to the governments with the requirement to oblige the search engine to pay them for the results in the search content from their Newspapers. Google, in turn, refused to do so and even threatened to simply stop indexing French media, if such rules are adopted. The governments of various countries have periodically spoken out in favor of the publishers in April, the French authorities ordered Google to pay local publishers for the content used, and Australia has promised to develop rules, under which Facebook and Google will have to share revenues from advertising with local media corporations.Nevertheless, the current agreement with the publishers was the first such step from Google, the Corporation promises that it will be followed by other similar agreements. “Today we are announcing the licensing program in which will pay publishers for quality content in the new news product that will be launched later in the year… We started with cooperation with several publishers from countries around the world and will soon be joined by many others,” said Google Vice President butguests brad Bender. At the same time about the prospects of the agreement, for example, with the American publishing houses that also claim to payments from Internet companies, are not yet known. Mr. Bender said that there are negotiations with the publishers “half a dozen” countries, but did not name them.Yana Christmas
