After 20 years, “DSDS” will be discontinued. RTL buried the casting show with Dieter Bohlen as chief juror, who was brought back behind the jury desk for the anniversary season. So “Flori” has to make room for the pop titan – and he should be happy about it.
Florian Silbereisen was supposed to replace Dieter Bohlen on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” – without success. Now RTL is bringing back the pop titan and Silbereisen is being sorted out. But that’s no reason for the singer and actor to hang his head. Florian Silbereisen is celebrating success like never before, his fan base is growing and growing. It’s not the 40-year-old’s fault that his uplifting and warm manner didn’t really go down well with the RTL viewers. On the contrary: The “DSDS 2.0” era has failed, but Florian Silbereisen can leave the sinking ship with his head held high.
“DSDS” lasted a year without its main judge Dieter Bohlen – now they’re bringing back the pop titan and sorting out Florian Silbereisen again. He had done a great job in season 19, but the viewers didn’t want to hear any encouraging words, but obviously missed Dieter Bohlen’s quick-witted riot answers. The numbers dropped, this year’s season finale was the worst in the history of the talent show. So the broadcaster had to act and decided to throw his once considered restructuring fantasy overboard and return to the origin: with the DSDS superfather on the jury.
Shortly after the Dieter Bohlen comeback news, RTL announced that the upcoming season would be the last of “DSDS”. So they don’t seem to have much hope for the jury change either – sometimes you just have to accept when a format no longer works. Even before Dieter Bohlen left, “DSDS” was struggling with ratings, few remember the winners of the last few seasons – most of them have completely disappeared from the scene. Nevertheless, the show will run on German television for two decades with the last season next year. Dieter Bohlen launches a final call: “If music is the thing in your life for you, please apply pronto, pronto, it’s the last time you can sing in front of the great master.”
For Florian Silbereisen, the end of “DSDS” so close to the end is probably the best thing that could have happened to him: he did his best and is so successful far from “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” that he doesn’t need such a format .
Florian Silbereisen probably doesn’t have to worry about the fact that he has now been replaced again on “DSDS”. After all, the moderator, actor and pop singer himself has so many projects of his own that his fans are always enthusiastic about. The 40-year-old is a multi-talent that is very rare. The fact that he doesn’t address the target group of “DSDS” doesn’t really matter to him. Because on shows like “Schlagerboom” and “Schlagerstrandparty” on channels like ARD and ZDF, the likeable moderator inspires viewers both in the studio and in front of the screen. And as the captain of “Das Traumschiff” Flori played into the hearts of everyone.
But Florian Silbereisen is not only a talent in front of the camera, he also seems to be a really nice guy privately. His relationship with his mother Helga seems to be very good. In an interview with “Super Illu” she enthused: “He’s a nice guy, honest, with his heart in the right place”. His ex Helen Fischer can certainly only confirm that. Because despite the surprising separation in 2018, the two hit stars have a friendly relationship. They prove that again and again: The new mom will celebrate her official stage comeback after her longer musical break in Florian Silbereisen’s show “Großen Schlagercomeback 2022” in July.
Apparently RTL is also aware of the popularity of the hit star. As the broadcaster itself explained, “new independent program formats” would be developed with Silbereisen. Which shows are involved here exactly, but will not be revealed. However, it can be assumed that this time the format will be based on Florian Silbereisen and that he will not have to serve as a guinea pig to revolutionize an outdated show. “DSDS with Florian Silbereisen, Ilse DeLange and Toby Gad was fresh, exciting and made us very happy. My big thanks go to all three who have enriched the show with their great musical expertise and their feeling for musical talent. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with Florian Silbereisen,” said RTL entertainment boss Markus Küttner.
It remains to be seen whether and how Florian Silbereisen will comment on his “DSDS” exit. The fact is that his fans don’t have to miss him in the TV landscape. And that he will go his own way even without the casting show. And who knows, maybe there will be another “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” season comeback next year, with another change of jury.
After RTL announced in March 2021 that the private broadcaster wanted to become more family-friendly, pop titan Dieter Bohlen had to vacate his regular seat on the jury panel and pop star Florian Silbereisen became chief juror. The hoped-for success did not materialize, which is why Dieter Bohlen is returning.
So now it’s official: Dieter Bohlen returns to RTL! As the broadcaster has now announced, the next season of DSDS will also be the last. To say goodbye, the pop titan is also on board again.
The TV broadcaster RTL has just announced: After two decades, the casting program “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” should end in 2023. Why there are several reasons to doubt that – and possibly everything is made dependent on the pop titan.
