The authorities of Germany and Austria going from June 15 to fully open the border, which was closed because of the pandemic coronavirus infection. This was announced on Wednesday, the Austria press Agency, citing the office of the Chancellor of Austria.
According to the Austrian press, on Tuesday, the plan of open borders has presented German Chancellor Angela Merkel. On Wednesday between Germany and Austria was open to minor border crossings for use by residents of border regions in the area of the German Federal land Bavaria and the Austrian Federal state of Upper Austria. In the future also needs to open border crossings in the Austrian Tirol and Salzburg.
