Tourcoing Jazz Festival, until October 20
Started on 13 October with a tribute to Jaco Pastorius by the guitarist Biréli Lagrène, the 32nd edition of the Tourcoing Jazz Festival, will continue until Saturday, October 20 with a concert of the singer Kimberose, announced full, just as the evenings with Fatoumata Diawara, 16 October-old Mulatu Astatke, the 17 and Charlie Winston, 19.
The program of the festival remains rich with in particular : the quartet Old and New Songs (Yoann Loustalot, trumpet, François Chesnel, piano, Frédéric Chiffoleau, bass, and Christophe Marguet, drums), the quartet of the trumpeter Enrico Rava and the group James Farm (Joshua Redman, saxophone Aaron Parks, piano; Matt Penman, bass Eric Harland, drums), on 16 October ; the trio of violinist Mathias Levy for a tribute to Stéphane Grappelli, the quartet of pianist André Manoukian, on the 17th ; the trio of pianist Pierre de Bethmann, with Sylvain Romano (double bass) and Tony Rabeson (drums), the band Nola French Connection in the first part of the singer Hugh Coltman, the 18 ; the trio of trumpeter Flavio Boltro with Mauro Battisti (double bass) and Mattia Barbieri (drums), Portico Quartet, the 19 ; the trio nOx.3 with the Swedish singer Linda Olah, the pianist Enrico Pieranunzi with bassist Diego Imbert and drummer André Ceccarelli, and finally the cuban pianist Chucho Valdés. Check (In) Side Party, Gueret, October 20
in the summer of 2019, a new festival will experience its first edition, on the site of the airfield of the town of Saint-Laurent, a few kilometers from the town of Gueret (Creuse). His name, the Check-in Party – music Festival-independent. In the meantime, and to give an idea of his artistic message, a fall edition, during one day, is held this Saturday, October 20, at Guéret. The program, which, for the occasion, bears the name of the Check (In) Side, Party, poster ad, Malik Djoudi, Képa, Miossec, Jeanne Added, Arnaud Rebotini and Rebekka Warrior. Rockomotives, Vendôme, from 20 to 27 October
The festival Rockomotives, appointment of current music proposed by the association vendômoise free Figures since 1992, is betting each year of a programming défricheuse. This edition 2018, which will take place from 20 to 27 October, is no exception. Friday, October 26, the great hall of the Minotaur will host headlining Eddy de Pretto, the new darling of the French song, a few days before his two Olympia almost complete. The ” Kid ” of Créteil will be particularly preceded by the Swiss Puts Marie, whose last album Catching Bad Temper (Two Gentlemen/Pias) fuses hip-hop, atmospheric rock and feverish, as well as the rapper from Seattle’s Aaron Cohen. The country racy Turner Cody and the pop-like of Tilö are among the talents to discover this programming, in a free concert on Sunday 21 in a place of surprise. Jazz on the Seine, up to October 27
Alliance of twenty-five clubs and places that program regularly, of jazz in Ile-de-France, the festival ” Jazz on Seine, announcement, for its 7th edition, which began on 12 October and will end on Saturday, October 27, 450 musicians performing for 180 concerts. It is, thanks to a system package for a small fee (40 € for 3 concerts in 3 different venues), encouraging the public to come and discover the activity of the different structures with programming that gives pride of place to the French stage, newcomers to the best-known artists, with here and there a few “stars” international (Carla Bley, Theo Croker, The Bad Plus, Roberto Fonseca…). pianist Lucas Debargue plays Chopin, in Lille, on October 18, and at Paris, 19 October
Three years after the Tchaikovsky Competition of Moscow, which revealed it to be 25 years in 2015, in spite of or because of a fourth price that is more noticed than the other, each appearance of pianist Lucas Debargue continues to spark debate. Whether in Lille on 18 October, or in Paris on the 19th of October, his head-to-head with Chopin, in which he plays the fearsome piano Concerto n°1, should not leave indifferent, especially as Sir Roger Norrington holds the baton of the philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France. Phosphorescent, small Leather goods, in Paris, on October 22,
The author-composer and performer Matthew Houck said Phosphor has certainly benefited from the revival of folk in the wake of Bon Iver, for ten years, to expand its audience. The New York adoption had already recorded three albums, including, in 2007, the beautiful and twilight Priest (Dead Oceans). A VIDEO : “Savior (piano version)” by St. Vincent
If the books in the version called “Deluxe” – a re-edition with bonuses and others – abound on the market, the versions of “Redux” are less frequent. This is the case of the new album of the enchanting Annie Clark, alias St. Vincent. A year after the release of his album Masseduction (Loma Vista/Caroline Records) massively acclaimed, the american singer released a new album that takes down his last work. Entitled MassEducation (with an ” e “capitalized and the addition of an” a “), the disc revisits the compositions of his famous drive in proofreading sleek piano-voice. The opportunity to hear these songs in their device natural, filtered, their production, electro-pop glitz. The disc was recorded during recording sessions of his twin, while mixing in two days, by Annie Clark accompanied by his faithful collaborator, the pianist Thomas Bartlett.
