Charles Leclerc missed two important World Championship points in the Ferrari disaster in Spa due to a race strategy error. Not Scuderia’s first tactical mistake – to the delight of the competition.

Ferrari disaster at Spa: Ferrari’s attempt to secure the fastest race lap at the GP in Belgium failed, as reported by “Motorsport total”. With a pit stop, they wanted to snatch the special point from World Championship competitor Max Verstappen. But instead, Charles Leclerc lost two points as he missed the fastest lap and received a speeding penalty in the pit lane. This meant sixth place instead of fifth.

Short, compact, clear

“Ferrari is doing strange things”: Fernando Alonso benefited from the mistake and was given a position as a result of the penalty. “Ferrari does strange things and that was another strange thing,” the F1 icon comments on the Scuderia’s manoeuvre.
