Lightweight contender Felix Verdejo satisfied with neighborhood authorities this week in Puerto Rico seeing an investigation into the disappearance of a 27-year-old girl, according to numerous accounts.

Verdejo (27-2, 17 KOs) allegedly met with authorities on Friday afternoon and refused to answer questions regarding the disappearance of both Keishla Marlen Rodriguez. According to local reports, authorities say Verdejo is an individual of interest from the situation but not a defendant. Rodriguez’s loved ones have alleged that she had been pregnant with his kid.

Top Rank, that has encouraged Verdejo because he turned pro in 2012, published a statement about the accounts on Saturday.

“Top Rank’s thoughts and prayers are with Keishla Marlen Rodriguez Ortiz’s family members and friends, and with those in mind,” the announcement read. “We are profoundly affected by the news reports, and we’ll continue to track developments in the situation as it evolves.”

Ahead of his professional career, he represented Puerto Rico in the 2012 Olympics.
