FAS in Transbaikalia began monitoring the prices of medical masks

Office of the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) on Transbaikalian edge, located near the Russian-Chinese border, organized monitoring of the prices of medical masks, reported on the Agency’s website.

Earlier, the authorities of the region reported that the region has a high demand for medical masks among the population, and their cost has increased 10 times, the government of Transbaikalia has addressed FAS with the request to organize the control.

“monitoring changes after 1 January 2020 in retail prices for personal protection, medical masks. If you have information about price increases and the shortage of masks checks will be conducted as a matter of priority in each case. In case of detection of economically unjustified price increases will be instituted proceedings on signs of violation of the Antimonopoly legislation, the perpetrators will be brought to administrative responsibility”, — stated in the message of FAS.

a Mask mode in Transbaikalia introduced in shopping centers and catering establishments. Currently, the regional government together with pharmacy chains decides on the purchase of additional medical masks due to the increased demand.
