Shipments of tequila from Mexico to other countries because of the coronavirus have significantly decreased. From April to June, exports decreased from 12 to 4 percent, RIA Novosti reported.
At the same time, it is noted that over the past six months, the volume of production increased by 4 per cent (compared to the same period last year) – up to 189 million gallons. The undisputed leader in the consumption of tequila in the world is the United States, where in the first half sent 88 percent of exports.
Producing a tequila of the enterprise, unlike Breweries, did not stop working in Mexico during a pandemic. Over the past 25 years appeared on the market almost 1.4 thousand new brands, started 125 of the plants. In the past year in other countries was sent to 246 million liters of tequila.
