Heat waves and heavy precipitation, which is characteristic recently for the European part of Russia, are a consequence of climate warming, said the scientific Director of the hydrometeorological center Roman Vilfand.

According to experts, as a result of global warming has changed the mode of circulation of air masses in the atmosphere: instead of moving from West to East, they are moving in meridianalno direction, from North to South and from South to North.

This causes the formation of anticyclones in high latitudes and the establishment of abnormally high temperatures.

Gismeteo is a leading meteorologist Leonid Starks, in turn, said that causes torrential rains. According to him, the humid air usually comes from the Atlantic. Because anticyclones are blocked mainly over the Urals and Western Siberia, and it is quite hot and dry.

While from the West comes the cool mass, increasing the temperature contrast, sharpen lines of atmospheric fronts and formed a powerful thunderstorm clouds.

For this reason, in Central Russia in recent days was recorded with heavy rains and storms, experts told Izvestia.

It was reported earlier that the abnormal heat will return to Moscow at the weekend, on 11 and 12 July.
