Prices are rising, consumers are groaning under the expensive phase that has been going on for months. There can be no talk of relief – quite the opposite. Autumn could bring further burdens for millions of people. Many products in German retail will then become even more expensive.
While the prices at Aldi, Lidl, Rewe and Edeka change almost weekly, they have remained more or less stable in the German shoe and textile trade. That could change in the fall.
In fact, consumers are already attuned to it. According to a current survey, only one in five people will definitely buy clothes and shoes in the store in the next four weeks. It could be worth it at this point in time. At C
Anyone who finds cheap T-shirts, sweaters, coats, jeans and sports suits should strike now. From autumn, the textile trade is threatened with a strong price surge. Double-digit price increases are to be expected for some products. As the Vice President of the Trade Association Textile Shoes Leather Goods (BTE), Andreas Bartmann, explained in the spring, the industry is still deep in the Corona crisis. Delivery delays in Asia will continue until at least the end of the year.
At the same time, large chains like H
This will have an overall impact on purchase prices from October.
FOCUS Online found out that there is a price adjustment of up to 40 percent for jeans, boots are 50 percent more expensive and consumers will also have to pay significantly more for coats this fall than they did in the same period last year.
Nike, Puma, Adidas and other major sports manufacturers have already made price adjustments or announced them for the coming fall. Then the great price explosion for shoes threatens.
Price adjustments of over 20 percent are planned for winter boots, leather, hiking and everyday shoes. The industry is currently trying to counteract this in order to keep customers in a buying mood. Intersport, Decathlon and Sportcheck are currently offering discounts of up to 20 percent on branded products.
FOCUS Online advises: Strike now and use vouchers that you can find in stores – the goods will not be cheaper from autumn.
Fragrances, cosmetics and drugstore items are also threatened with the next price hike from autumn. Because raw materials and chemical substances are more expensive to buy and transport and storage costs are rising at the same time, an adjustment is in the offing.
Large corporations fear that demand for the products will fall. Manufacturers are therefore trying to take countermeasures. They make the packaging smaller to suggest a lower price. In fact, consumers pay more for the same content. This procedure is more noticeable with make-up, perfume and facial cleansing.
Take advantage of the current special offers and stock up on goods. It won’t get any cheaper.
Ikea, Mömax, XXXLutz, Jysk and other furniture stores have turned the price screw several times since the beginning of the year. As FOCUS Online learned, at least three prize rounds have taken place since the beginning of the year. The entire range was affected! From cushions and decorative items to pieces of furniture.
The next price adjustment is now in the offing for autumn. Because there are still delays in the manufacture of certain products made of glass and wood. In addition, raw material prices continue to rise. To make matters worse, the industry is struggling with increased transport and delivery costs.
Consumers will feel further price jumps from October, when the new furniture collection will be in the houses.

The 9-euro ticket is still valid until the end of August. After that, individual tickets, group tickets or subscriptions to public transport could become more expensive. Ingo Wortmann, President of the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV), warned of higher prices after the three months in which the ticket is valid.
Bus and train companies have to calculate with higher costs. Because the federal government refuses to compensate for rising fuel prices, companies have to raise prices. All transport companies in Germany would be under pressure, and users would have to bear the costs.
“In the medium term, we will have to allocate the missing funds to fares or limit the offer,” added Wortmann. “The ticket prices will continue to rise – not directly on September 1st, but in the next price rounds.” Price rounds usually take place in September, October and November.
This is how you can save: If you pay for your annual subscription in advance, you can use the bus and train at the old price. If a hefty price increase is imminent, the advance payment can be worthwhile. Then you can use local public transport at a reduced price for a year.
