“It’s the act of mixing ingredients with white rum, then leaving it to macerate,” explains Florian Lecrux, creator of Arrange Toi. After about a month of waiting, the result is “an explosion of flavors” that can be enjoyed on ice, in a cocktail or with soda. The Quebec entrepreneur offers five very original recipes including spices, herbs and dehydrated fruits. All in pretty transparent bottles to which all you have to do is add rum (or another alcoholic drink, if you wish).
Florian Lecrux fell in love with arranged rum during a vacation on Reunion Island about ten years ago. “I fell in love with all these flavors,” summarizes this French native who is also a nursing teacher. Over the years, he has developed numerous recipes for arranged rum. “Very satisfied” with them, he wanted to share his discoveries. Arrange Toi was born about a year ago. Since the spring, Florian Lecrux has participated in different markets in the Quebec region to taste his products. It is also at the Grand Marché de Québec until December 24.
When we think of Reunion Island, we imagine exotic tastes. If Arrange Toi does indeed offer a blend that combines sunny aromas, such as pineapple, vanilla and coconut, the selection also highlights local tastes and ingredients. Apple crisp, Boreal Forest and Rougeurs du Québec (in which we find cranberries, strawberries and raspberries) are among Florian Lecrux’s arranged rums. The products are available online and in some points of sale in the Quebec region.
