– “Curiosities of the military history museums of Belarus and Russia” – from books that return our memory to the dramatic and heroic events of the great Patriotic war. Return with such force that acquaintance with almost every page makes it beat faster. The publication was prepared on the initiative of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Fedorovich Mezentsev, and with the support of the Permanent Committee of the Union state and the all-Russian public organization “Russian military historical society”. Under one cover a collection of information, illustrations dedicated to the most important 100 exhibits from the collections of the major military history museums of Belarus and Russia.

In his opening remarks to the album Union state Secretary Grigory Rapota addressed to all who honor the memory of the great Patriotic war, these words: “a Significant part of its history, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation were part of a single state. But not only so two people, two countries are linked by close ties of political-economic Union, historical and cultural community. The most important and most heroic event in our history was the struggle and the victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945. We defended the Fatherland, won the Victory over the treacherous foe, whose very presence in our land threatened to destroy the country and our people.

the Federal government, which 20 years ago was United Belarus and Russia, is a continuation of our community and consanguinity of the two peoples. We were together in the battles of the great Patriotic war, stay together in peace. I think that it is worthy of the memory of our heroic ancestors-the winners”. From album “Rarities of the military history museums of Belarus and Russia”, which was published on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory, starts its own story. It will be linked to the fact that its pages will reveal to students, young people, historians and ethnographers will reveal all, who thinks that the rarities came from battles of the war, forever remained deadly weapon against the destroyers of the world.
