Approaching us, bitterly said: the War has begun,” recalls Praskovya Pavlovna. So 14-year-old of panem suddenly matured from the beginning of the great Patriotic war.

in the Autumn of 1941 to Leningrad fell on hard days. Began a military blockade of the city on the Neva. It lasted from 8 September 1941 to 27 January 1944. In the city there was a massive famine. “It was hungry and cold” – so says the blockade time Praskovya Pavlovna. Remained in the memory 125 grams of bread, which in the morning went to sister Anna, and the youngest had to wait for her. “During the blockade we survived thanks to my mother, who worked in the dining room and brought the leftover food, which was preparing a simple dinner was shared equally between all the bread,” recalls Praskovya Pavlovna. According to her, the city with full force tried to survive, not thinking about death, dream about winning. “That our people will win, everyone believed, fought on the front left in the rear, the elderly and children, everyone wanted to help the country. In our family no one panicked, everyone lived life of the country,” said Praskovia Pavlovna. In the siege was not their father. “One day suddenly gave a herring, he ate a little more than normal and died from indigestion,” says Praskovya Pavlovna.

When in January 1943 broke through the blockade ring, the Leningrad children were evacuated across lake Ladoga to other regions. All were taken on the barge. Their four girls were taken and Efrosinya evdokimovna. “We were all bundled up, it was warm, I fell asleep. Somehow, still it seems to me that we were brought out on a submarine” – shares memories Praskovya Pavlovna.

Its share fell to a severe war years, it failed to get a higher education, but she always tried to give knowledge, good upbringing and education for children. Continued to work as a typist at the factory that manufactured aircraft engines. Wrote and typed the lyrics correctly, the work was responsible for her colleagues, she says, is treated with respect.

Already retired Praskovya Pavlovna with her daughter Marina went to Leningrad (she still calls it that), walked through the places of her childhood and adolescence. Praskovya Pavlovna awarded by a sign “Inhabitant of blockade Leningrad”. For many years of conscientious work was awarded the medal “Veteran of labor”.

Despite nearly a century of age, Praskovya Pavlovna, until recently, was working in the orchard, engaged in the blanks.
