the European court of General jurisdiction dismissed the claims of the operators of the “North stream” and “Nord stream-2”, Nord Stream AG Nord Stream AG 2, who demanded not to extend the standards of the updated EU gas Directive on gas pipelines from third countries. This is stated in press release on the court’s website.

the Directive in particular requires that the mining company did not own the pipeline, which is the delivery of gas. For the “Nord stream-2” requirement is important for a distance of 12 nautical miles off the coast of Germany.

the Operators filed a lawsuit in November 2019. They demanded to cancel the partial amendment due too short periods for the grant of exceptions under these projects.

Previously, the Federal network Agency of Germany has given the Nord Stream AG 2 in the breeding pipeline under rules updated EU gas Directive. The operator can still appeal the decision, but if it will satisfy, then Germany will come into conflict with the European Union.

One of the consequences of application of the Directive to the “Nord stream-2” is the limit of its capacity twice. The Directive requires the reservation, 50 percent of the capacity for alternative suppliers, but the right to export gas in Russia has only “Gazprom”.

Previously the rules did not apply to Maritime routes, they now apply to all gas pipelines that were built after may of 2019.

however, Nord Stream announced that the Federal network Agency in Germany has allowed to bring the “Nord stream” under Directive actions. The decision was expected, as it is completed before the specified date. Deliveries continue possible in full, however, the capacity of land to continue, OPAL, continue are limited to two times.
