The President of France Emmanuel macron called on the EU to "mobilize", together with the demonstrators. About this he wrote on Twitter.

"the European Union should continue to mobilize along with hundreds of thousands of Belarusians who were peacefully demonstrating respect for their rights, freedoms and sovereignty," wrote macron.

August 9, in Belarus presidential elections were held. After the polls closed, the country began mass protests against the falsification of the results. During the protests police used against the demonstrators with tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets. Later the country went on strike in the largest industrial enterprises, the staff demanded new elections and the cessation of harsh treatment of protesters at demonstrations. All the staffs of the opposition candidates have declared non-recognition of the official election results.
