The EU leaders broke off negotiations on the formation of a multi-year EU budget. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the press Secretary of the head of the European Council Brenda of Latsa.

Also at the summit was planned to discuss the establishment of the anti-crisis Fund of the EU to support the economy suffered because of the pandemic coronavirus.

The negotiations were to be completed on Saturday, however, the proposed timeframe to agree on these points failed. The meeting will resume on Sunday.

It was noted earlier that the developed program to support the economy of the affected countries has caused criticism from some European countries, which propose to reduce the amount of debt and only agree to credit. As a compromise, European Council President Charles Michel proposed to postpone the beginning of payment of debts for the year is 2027, and save discount on contributions to the EU budget.
