The President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on July 13 held a telephone conversation. As reported on the website of the Kremlin, the conversation took place at the initiative of Ankara.

During the conversation, Putin drew attention to Erdogan at public outcry that caused the recent events surrounding the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.
