With Francoeur, we finish the poets well, the daughter of the “sanctified rocker”, Virginie, says she wants to tell his “best”, knowing that he is not immortal.
Poet, professor, radio host, rocker, even rapper, Lucien Francoeur has worn several hats, even if we have rarely seen him cover his bald head.
The rebel is the subject of a documentary co-directed by his daughter, among other things based around a trip to California, we understand by watching the trailer, unveiled this Tuesday. “My father is my best friend, my mentor. I don’t want to lose him, but at the same time I know he’s not immortal. This is why the film is urgently needed to tell the story. It’s really a last call,” says Virgnie Francoeur, who co-directs with Robbie Hart.
A big deal to paint an accurate portrait of this icon of Quebec counter-culture which is not unanimously accepted. The road trip to California of the self-proclaimed bum and his daughter is part of a sort of homecoming for the designer, whose youth, if not his entire life, was marked by Jim Morrison.
Francoeur, we finish well the poets will be released in theaters on December 8.
