The reason is painfully simple – no money. We managed to get through to Nikolai Vladimirovich, and here is what he said.

– Last performance “Tram “Desire”” we played a March 27 international theatre Day on 49 people. Then the CPS called and said, “Another performance, and a fine in the millions”. We stopped to play. Sat for ten days. Artists began to write to me: can’t, why are you sitting here, let’s rehearse. 7 APR resumed rehearsals in the morning and in the evening, the masked measured temperature. Every day I asked: “You came on your own? I did not force you”. They all said, “its if you get sick ourselves to blame.” During these two months we did five performances.
– Today, many theatres show their productions online. You refused this. Why?
I hate this line. Theatre is a living thing, and broadcast it over the Internet – nonsense. Although, if not for the help of people, we would not have lasted. For two months I did not get fired. All received approximately the same salary as before. When we worked, we earned a day from 20 to 60 thousand rubles, was playing 60-70 plays per month at two sites. The actors – actors 38. They were all busy, happy, making money. Now given all the money: from 12 to 30 thousand.
– Many people in the theater world helped you?
– I Have tears fled when Alexander Kal��gin sent their hundred thousand rubles. Helped Dmitry Bertman, Gregory Zaslavsky, Sergei Fedotov from the theatre BRIDGE. Directors from different theatres write to me: “nick, tell me your card number”. People send one hundred or two hundred rubles. Write: “I’m Sorry that so few”. I understand that they tear off the last, and this is the sign: the old man, hold on, everything will be fine. Artists are aware that the theatrical world is not snapped, and is willing to help.
So still there is hope that the Christmas Carol-theatre will reopen?
– While I sent on indefinite leave without pay. You know, back in February I appealed to the government of the Sverdlovsk region, that the theatre has taken on the budget, knowing that I have a hard one to pull.

What would you say to your audience?
– Your audience I always say: love is actions. If you truly love me and my theatre, help in this difficult situation. Then comes autumn, and say, “Carol, now I have no money”.
