Spanish novelist Juan Mars, has died on 88-m to year of life in Barcelona. This was reported in the Sunday literary Agency Carmen Balcells.

According to him, he "died last night at the age of 87 years in Barcelona".

Juan Mars was born on 8 January 1933. He is the writer "generation 50 years" (writers, became famous after the civil war in Spain). On account of his many novels, among which are "Locked one toy" (Encerrados con un solo juguete, 1960), "Last evenings with Teresa" (Ultimas tardes con Teresa, 1966), "the Dark story of cousin Montse" (La oscura historia de la prima Montse, 1970), "Love songs in lolita’s club" (Canciones de amor en Lolita’s Club, 2005), and others.

Some of his works have been filmed. Mars was also the winner of various national and international awards. In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Spanish prize Miguel de Cervantes.
