NEW YORK, April 9. /TASS/. a Former employee of the Pentagon, Linda Tripp, is among the key figures of the scandal surrounding an extramarital affair with the 42nd U.S. President bill Clinton with Monica Lewinsky, has died at the age of 70 years. This was announced on Wednesday the TV channel CNN.

Relatives Tripp said that she had a few days ago was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Previously she was treated from breast cancer.

Tripp, being a friend of Lewinsky, in 1997, a secretly taped phone conversations with her. During these long conversations last spoke about her intimate relationship with Clinton. Tripp later gave the recording spectacular Kenneth Starr. This allowed us to begin impeachment proceedings for Clinton.
