In Nizhny Novgorod passed away former chief designer of Gas Bezrodny. The funeral took place on August 10, the day before he was executed 61 year.
the education of Rootless was an engineer (graduated from the Gorky Polytechnic). The GAS came in 1981, in the management of design and experimental works (of the PLANT), however had no specialty long – colleagues noticed his artistic talent, and soon he was transferred to the design Bureau of Gas designer-stylist.
In 1984, Igor A. along with a group of young colleagues won in the local competition to create the exterior for the new generation of the Volga – his proposal bypassed projects venerable designers of the plant. In the end, under the leadership of the Rootless was created by the appearance of all-wheel drive sedan GAZ-3105, which appeared in 1988 and, unfortunately, due to the difficult situation in the country was harvested only a pilot batch of 55 copies.
In the mid-90s Rootless was appointed chief designer of Gas. His other major success was “neo-classic” rear-wheel drive Volga GAZ-3111, after making a splash at the Moscow international motor show in 1998. This model went into limited production in 2000 and was produced until 2003. Were collected 400 such machines which are now considered collector’s value.
Under the leadership of Rootless created design and other bright car strip – experimental “Volga” GAZ-3103/3104, truck GAZ-2308 “Ataman”, SUV GAS-23081 “Ataman-Ermak” and GAZ-3106 “Ataman-2”, collector armored car GAS “Siam”. Igor Alekseevich worked as the chief designer of Gas until 2014.
