Honored artist of the Russian Federation Alena Babenko plays in the film, just the most driven mother, who is forbidden to approach the daughters. Browser “RG” talked with her about “Consequences” and other things.
Alena, at first delicate, on the subject of coronavirus. Want something about this to say?
Alena Babenko: would Like to wish all of a sudden, God forbid, became ill with the coronavirus, so they didn’t panic and was not afraid. Nothing wrong with that. People get sick in different ways. Someone harder, someone easier. We have a proven treatment with excellent doctors. Obey them and all will be well. And help them in a good mood, because I was faced with the fact that doctors say that people come configured to “die”, instead of to hospital. Well, it’s stupid!
Once there was talk about a TV show in which you starred, “the Dancing with the stars” that we should not participate in our time and so on.
Alena Babenko: Absolutely do not agree with that because we’re artists. And I, for example, still, the war on the street or an epidemic. I believe that the artist creates the mood of the people is his profession. The artist is! So for me the question to participate or not did not stand. I could assume that it is possible to get infected. So it happened, but I do not regret that went into this wonderful project. And how the people rejoiced to get a gram of joy, just the distraction of everything that happens, from the rest of the heavy information that was broadcast by all the media, and television in the first place, from morning to evening.
In the series, “Consequences” refers to the relationship between men and women: they from misunderstanding do things that they are then difficult to correct.
Alena Babenko: Yes, in the series taken such a critical situation, when people quarreled, parted, and even so tough that the mother actually deprived children. It was unclear from the beginning. Because, as you can for what should be a person inside, what’s the degree of resentment or misunderstanding? Despite the fact that there was love in the family – and suddenly this gap. Guess that’s what happens in life. But the consequence of this resentment is the fact that the hero was caught in an incurable disease. That is causing people to walk in their offense that it carries over to the physical condition. No matter how it sounded, but this story is a direct correlation. At the same time and tip any person who “infected” in your life with resentment, hatred, unwillingness to understand and other things.
That helped your character? She is also very much hurt as a mother deprived of her parental rights.
Alena Babenko: Probably the profession that she has. She works in search and rescue detachment. I think that her profession is and saves. Because she had no time for offense. She’s like no one in this family knows what grief. And if a person is engaged in such business, then it is already large enough reserves of warmth. It deals with missing people, and it allows her not to sink to the level of a layman, which would have reacted to the tragedy in his own family otherwise.
What do you think about that series in Russia in recent times and the attitude towards them has changed so drastically? The series “Consequences” could, with success, for example, to go to the First channel, and appears online.
Alena Babenko: I Have another question for you: what is the choice, why some series go on television and online? They have less editing?
actually it is. Because serials are coming online, often can afford that may not, for example, the Federal channel, which broadcasts to a large audience and there restrictions.
Alena Babenko: I recently looked on the Internet series in which you can select the version without a Mat or with Mat – there is an age limit. I understand more. I am absolutely not a prude, but I wonder why so defy the use of the Mat. Not going to name names, but there are also bloggers, filmmakers, and artists who are happy so expressed. Visitors come to them, who also suddenly start for no reason at all to swear. I don’t understand what’s the catch? For me this is not freedom, and inferiority complex.
And if directed by you on the site will say that you cussed?
Alena Babenko: If this is the case… the Use of the Mat is very elegant and the topic. But I, for example, are not interested in and did not touch the characters, which themselves bydlovaty, and even the mother. Mate may sound funny in certain situations. For example, man does not tend to matter, and suddenly he does that funny. There is a Director’s task. But overall, I think that without a Mat, you can do in art. For me it is not freedom. The art still needs to raise a little person “above sea level”.
in Addition to working in the theater “Contemporary”, you act in a completely different genre and form films. Last year, for example, published a wonderful short film “Submarine” with your participation, which won the main short film festival of the country “in Short”. How do you choose where to work?
Alena Babenko: Then there were two short films. There is a Director Alisa Nekrasova. She wrote a script for a short film and asked me to play in it. I refused the offer of the role and said I want to play the main character. And just the other actress that Alice wanted to try for the lead role, something did not happen. And I “flew” in the movie for one day. It was a crazy shooting complex. Not everyone has big money and, as a consequence, the ability to organize correctly the process. We shot for five days, and the facilities were terrible. For example, urban trash, went somewhere in the Moscow region. But it was worth it to play in this story, which is marvelous in itself.
And then in another short film I was invited to play the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna. Her meeting in prison with Ivan kaliayev I look forward to these two short films, which in material are diametrically opposed. Very interesting, in this sense, I, of course, grasping first of all in the history.
And Alexander Scott, who made “Consequences”, worked the first time?
Alena Babenko: We studied together at the Institute of Cinematography, and I once did a short film. And it’s been a hundred years (laughs). As I said to Sasha: “at last we are together!” These are the people with whom I developed a warm relationship since College times. And operator of wonderful – Peter dukhovskoy. When such a situation develops, if you call me, I will agree, even before you read the material. Just go to work, knowing that it will be great fun.
What other projects with your participation, the viewer to wait?
Alena Babenko: Now I am being offered an interesting project, the same episode, I like it. And the movie. But in today’s situation it’s all, as they say, blurry. As for the plans for sure, it is a rehearsal of a new play in the theatre “Sovremennik”, the latest play by Eugene Grishkovets “collected works”. Director Victor Ryzhakov. Rehearsing for Zoom yet. Feel like Gulliver in lilliput. Sitting in front of the screen, you have there the little men talking, and you’re this big (laughs).
it is said that the need now is to buy large screens.
Alena Babenko: I, on the contrary, I want to throw out all the screens. And say: “Rehearsing live!”
What have you learned from isolation? Something you did something that before was not necessary?
Alena Babenko: first, I am a person who is looking for the pros. Therefore apprehended, plus the fact that I cut off from the hustle and bustle and said, “You live one day.” Wonderful! No plans for tomorrow I don’t have. I was happy, had no fear. Village home, certainly not immediately. Because we don’t all believe. He began to run everywhere, to walk, to laugh about the coronavirus. Since I was the “Dancing with the stars”, did not have to sit at home: twice a day was a workout. I thought, like, wow, if I began to dance at the usual time, when I had so much work I probably would not have survived physically. And envied those who started to touch all the corners in the house and to restore order. Still jealous, sweat��mu that I have not a single angle is not parsed. Then I got sick, ended up in the hospital, now come and think: “Finally! Now will begin”.
