The candidate for the post of President of Belarus Valery Tsepkalo in an interview with “the Ribbon.ru” has told about his vision of Belarusian-Russian relations and the deepening integration between countries.

According to him, in the framework of the Union state should continue to work for social and economic blocks. Tsepkalo at the same time questioned the need for the operation of the other mechanisms, in particular, a single currency and a supranational court. The politician called for the revision of the Treaty on the Union state, signed in 1999.

“My deep conviction is that work well those that are in the mutual interests of the two parties. Before the Treaty on the Union state was largely in the interests of Belarus. In addition, worked as the economic bloc, Belarus was actually the beggar from Russia. Of course, now everything has changed. Russia can no longer feed the Belarus, it its social obligations”, — said Tsepkalo.

He added that Belarus should continue to develop good relations with Russia, but also to improve the dialogue with the EU and the USA, which are the main source of investment and technology. According to Tsepkalo, Belarus could become a “lawyer” of Moscow for restoration of the dialogue with Brussels and Washington up to the level of 2014.

On June 24 the former head of the Belarusian high-tech Park Valery Tsepkalo filed documents for registration of his candidacy for the presidency. He gave a CEC of 160 thousand signature sheets for the pass minimum in 100 thousand. Tsepkalo stressed that full confidence in the legality of all collected documents and does not see any reason why he can refuse registration.
