The subject of the extension of Youssofa Moukoko’s contract, which is due to expire in the summer, has dominated reporting on Borussia Dortmund for weeks. Now sports director Sebastian Kehl made a clear announcement to the 18-year-old.

In an interview with “Kicker”, BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl now clearly comments on the Moukoko cause. “We have put together a very attractive offer for him that gives him a lot of room for development. That should lead to a decision. He has to meet those around him and his advisor.”

The ex-player also made it clear that the 18-year-old striker would have to make a decision soon: “Youssoufa can now accept this offer and commit to Borussia Dortmund – or we will part ways.”

Kehl made it clear that Borussia’s offer was definitely the last one and that there was no room for improvement: “I would hope that he would choose us because his development is not over yet and I see huge potential in him. But there are limits for us as a club. And we have shown these limits.”

Now it would be up to Moukoko to make a decision “promptly”. This means that the striker and his advisory team have to make a decision before the opening game against Augsburg (Sunday, from 3.30 p.m. in the FOCUS online live ticker). “Youssoufa and his advisors know that we expect a decision this week,” said Kehl.
