Social activities of Andrei Skoch

Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch is a deputy of the Russian State Duma and a philanthropist, who has implemented a number of social projects helping Russian citizens in a wide range of areas.

Andrei Skoch’s career path

The founder of the Generation (“Pokolenie”) Foundation was born in the village of Nikolskoye in the Moscow region in 1966. He studied at the Psychology Department of the Moscow State University and became a businessman in the 1990s.

At the beginning of his entrepreneurial career, A.V. Skoch was engaged in the sale of computer equipment with his partner Lev Kvetnoi. Later they plunged into the trade, and in 1995, invested the money they had earned into the company “Interfin”. The organization developed dynamically and by the beginning of the new millennium, had acquired shares in such large industrial enterprises as the Oskol Electro-Metallurgical and Lebedinsky Mining and Processing plants.

In 1999, Skoch Andrei Vladimirovich made the decision to leave the business world for the sake of political career. He was elected a deputy to the Russian State Duma with 54% of the vote.

He then transferred his assets to his father Vladimir Skoch, a trade union leader and experienced industrial worker. Over the course of his time in office, Skoch has co-authored over 150 legislative initiatives, including the famous law on Dacha Amnesty. Among other things, Andrei Vladimirovich participated in the preparation of drafts that later became laws, and various amendments, affecting areas such as:

  • military personnel salaries;
  • Information, Information technologies and Information protection (restricting access to materials posted online containing cruelty to animals);
  • education in the Russian Federation;
  • gardening by citizens for their own needs.

Andrei Vladimirovich has received numerous awards not only for his legislative work, but also for his philanthropic activities. Among them: the medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” 2nd and 1st degrees, the medal “Five Continents”, and the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

 

Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch’s charitable initiatives

Andrei Skoch founded his charity the Generation (“Pokolenie”) Foundation in 1996. Today, he provides assistance to a wide variety of Russian citizens, and also develops projects in such areas as education, culture, sports, military-patriotic education and many others. Initially, the priority of the fund’s work was health care, and special attention is still devoted to work in this sphere. Funds are annually allocated for the purchase of medicines and equipment for medical institutions: more than 500 units of medical equipment were purchased for a total amount of more than 385 million rubles. In addition, the organization financed the construction of ophthalmological, neuro-orthopedic and specialized medical centers in Belgorod and Stary Oskol, all of which were equipped with the latest technology. In the region, 29 midwife stations were also installed for residents of rural settlements in several districts.
