Africa needs the EU’s help to curb the spread of the virus, says the EU commission president.

the EU ensures “more than 15 billion euros”, which is equivalent to 112 billion Danish kroner, to “help partners in the world” to combat coronavirus.

It says the EU Commission president, Ursula von is Leyen, in a video message Tuesday. She does not mention where the money comes from, if they are sent away, or whether it is an interim outstanding promise.

– We can only win this fight with a coordinated and global effort. Therefore, we must support our partners, ” says von der Leyen, and mentions Africa.

Africa may on some weeks get to experience the same challenges that European feel right now, says the president.

– They need our help to curb the spread of this virus, as we needed the help of others in this crisis, explains von der Leyen.

the Money can be used to cover urgent needs in the health sector, but the money must also be used “to keep people in their jobs”.

Ursula von der Leyen says that there will be more money “from the member states”.

Alone in Denmark, the government has set aside, there is something higher than the 15 billion euros, to keep the hand under the economy.
