Cave with ancient paintings found in Northern Sinai

In Egypt, archaeologists during the survey of the ancient caves in the North of the Sinai Peninsula discovered the images of animals and remains of round buildings, once formed, likely, the settlement.

As reported by Ahram Online, the cave is located in Wadi al-Zulma. Its walls inside are covered with scenes with images of animals. Mostly camels, deer, donkeys, mules and mountain goats.

Prints made in an artistic style never before at Sinai not met – they relief. Moreover, the plots are significantly different from the cave paintings discovered in previous studies in the South of the Sinai Peninsula.

“This cave is the first of its kind discovered in this area,” says Aymen Ashmawy from the Ministry of Affairs of antiquities of Egypt.

According to the head of the research mission Hisham Hussein, the drawings still Dating and catalog. Interestingly, approximately 200 metres South-West of the caves archaeologists found the remains of round stone buildings.

Probably in ancient times there was a settlement. It is not excluded that the locals were the authors found rock engravings, which scientists have called outstanding.

This is not the first important discovery made in recent days in Egypt. We will remind, earlier archaeological mission of the Ministry of antiquities during excavations in the city of Sakara found necropolis with well-preserved sarcophagi. In this burial around people were buried sacred animals, including very rare.
