Doctor medical center in Portland Ravi Tomar, confirmed the possibility of simultaneous infection with influenza viruses and COVID-19. According to him, it can be extremely dangerous, as the immune system has to combat two diseases at once.
During an interview for British newspaper the Daily Express, the doctor told me that with this infection the patient will need significantly more time for recovery, also significantly increases the risk of death.
Tomar said that the risk of dual infection affects people older than 65 years, pregnant women and those suffering from diabetes, asthma and heart disease. The doctor advised to comply with social distancing and wearing a protective mask.
