Now that Schalke and Augsburg have found new coaches for the coming season, all coaching positions at the German first division teams have been filled. And that despite the fact that some prominent top trainers are still without a new employer.
No jobs: Enrico Maaßen will take over in Augsburg next season, and Frank Kramer will be in charge of promoted Schalke 04 in the future. This means that all coaching positions in the Bundesliga have been filled again. Curious, because some well-known top trainers such as Marco Rose, Adi Hütter or Sebastian Hoeneß are still waiting.
Short, compact, clear
clubs abroad? It is currently unclear whether Rose and Hütter will wait until the German coaching carousel starts moving again or whether they will sign an employment contract abroad. Rose was last linked with French Europa League contenders OGC Nice. For him, however, it would be the third job in three seasons. It is therefore questionable whether he will plunge straight into the next challenge.
Time out: Sebastian Hoeneß will probably not be seen on the sidelines of a Bundesliga club next season. After being kicked out at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, the 40-year-old does not want to take on a new coaching position for the time being and instead wants to “recharge his batteries”.
