Belarus simplifies visa regime with the EU

the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the law on ratification of the agreement with the European Union on simplification of visa regime. The act published on the national legal online portal.

“to Ratify the agreement between Belarus and the European Union on visa facilitation, signed in Brussels on 8 Jan 2020 year”, — stated in the text.

Lukashenka signed the law on ratification of the agreement with the EU on readmission. According to him, the parties will have to implement the readmission of its citizens, citizens of third countries and persons without citizenship that do not meet or no longer meet the criteria of legality in the territories of each other.

on 9 January Belarus and the EU signed the agreement on simplification of visa regime. The agreement involves reciprocal decrease in the cost of visas to 35 euros, with a maximum possible term of stay of citizens will increase in two times — up to 180 days a year. For the citizens of Belarus reduced the term of consideration of visa applications.

Certain categories of travelers will be able to obtain multiple-entry visas with a longer validity at a lesser number provided to confirm the purpose of travel documents.
