For the third time in the “Klopp” era, Liverpool FC has the chance to win the European crown in the final. So far the balance sheet is balanced. A great triumph meets a bitter defeat. Against Real Madrid of all places. The team that now has to be overcome again. Los Blancos are always tough opponents but as a proud Liverpool fan I’m sure there can only be one winner in Paris – and that’s the ‘Reds’.

FC Liverpool – Real Madrid

After an unbelievable, really sensational season in all competitions, the pot can only end up in our hands.

The 92 points in the Premier League alone, probably the toughest league in the world, speak for themselves. Only Manchester City was a little better after 38 games.

Dear reader, The fact that this Liverpool team has qualified for every game imaginable shows the enormous class of the team. The Champions League final in Paris will be the 63rd game of the current season.

These numbers are just insane and bear Jürgen Klopp’s name. What he has achieved in the last six years is unbelievable! He transformed a sleeping giant, an average club at the time, into a world-class club. He’s formed a whole new squad without spending lavishly.

His track record is almost unique in Liverpool. Only Bob Paisley, head coach from 1974 to 1983, achieved something similar. He too was able to win everything with the “Reds”. Under his pen, Liverpool became champions six times and won the first three national championship trophies in the club’s history. Klopp is on the same level as him. Not in terms of titles won, but definitely in the eyes of the fans.

If someone had told me when Klopp took office that he would be the best manager in club history, I would have said he was crazy. Now I know it will be difficult to ever find a more suitable manager for Liverpool. One thing is clear: Klopp is the best ambassador Germany has ever had!

With Klopp’s contract extended until 2026, I am certain that we will continue to play football very successfully in the years to come. Because one thing makes him special and also ensures his uncanny sympathy among the fans: he is not driven by money, but by success.

After seven years as coach of Mainz 05 and seven successful seasons on the BVB bench, I was certain that the Klopp chapter was over after eight years at Liverpool. But with the contract extension, he proved once again that it just fits between Klopp and Liverpool – almost like a glove.

But the second Champions League title will not be a sure-fire success. Before that we have to bring Real Madrid to their knees and they have already shown impressively several times this Champions League season that they are not to be trifled with. First they knocked out PSG’s all-star squad, then two last-minute goals against Chelsea knocked the holders out. In the semifinals it got even more spectacular.

In two amazing semi-final duels they defeated our big rivals this season: Manchester City with a total score of 6:5. We, on the other hand, had supposedly easier opponents with Inter Milan, Benfica Lisbon and Villarreal, but we were all able to beat them much more confidently.

Real Madrid also have a world-class coach in Carlo Ancelotti, that’s for sure. He’s an old fox and knows all the tricks, so we have to be very careful! There are also the two old men Karim Benzema and Luka Modric, who are once again showing their class this season. Benzema in particular is having the best season of his career. He also has a young savage at his side in Vinicius Jr., against whom Trent Alexander-Arnold must first survive. The pace of the Brazilian is probably unique.

Just like the Liverpool team. Because with our squad, I’m not worried about that. Hardly any other team in European football is as broad and high-quality as Liverpool FC. We have two people in almost every position.

And especially the heart of our team, the furious strike line, can rotate at will. We have five absolutely world-class players, and unfortunately only three of them can play. Whether it’s Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz or Diogo Jota, every single one of them is an outstanding attacker and can make the difference. Together they have scored an impressive 94 goals this season.

The age structure of our luxury sports cars in the storm is also cleverly planned. Salah, Mane and Firmino are around 30 years old and are therefore at their peak. At the age of 25, the two wild youngsters Diaz and Jota are still on their way to becoming the absolute world class and can later adequately replace the three old stars and at the same time learn from them.

And then there’s the magician we got from FC Bayern – Thiago. He always plays outstandingly when he comes into play and is a real difference player who is a feast for the eyes to watch. It also fits Liverpool like a glove.

Last but not least, I don’t want to miss out on a tip for the big game: I say that my Liverpool FC will take the pot with a 3-1 win to England. And that has a special background: In 1981 we also played in the final of the European Cup against Real Madrid. This game also took place in Paris and Liverpool won it 1-0. If that’s not a good omen, then I don’t know what is.

Liverpool face Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday. Klopp’s assistant coach now reveals what could spur the Reds on ahead of the game.

Jürgen Klinsmann is familiar with Hertha BSC. After the club’s rescue, the short-term coach announced in an interview that the club would never be successful without a new stadium.

Ousmane Dembélé has rarely played for FC Barcelona recently. The reason for this is neither an injury nor a lack of performance, but an associated payment to Dortmund.
