Prices are rising, consumers are groaning under the high cost of living. Whether electricity, gas, food or clothing: everything is becoming more expensive. But there are important dates that everyone should know. The savings calendar from FOCUS Online shows when there are price fluctuations, bargains and money from the state.

Food prices have risen sharply in the past four months. But there are also significant price adjustments for electricity and gas – upwards.

For millions of people, this is a significant additional burden.

FOCUS Online advises: From August 2022, set aside a monthly sum for the utility bill for 2023. Ideally at least 50 euros.

In several fashion and shoe stores, July usually brings bargain offers. There are discounts on sneakers, jackets, suits, T-shirts and jackets. There is no longer an official summer sale, but Deichmann, New Yorker, C

You can also save on garden products. Do you need a new lawnmower, a solar shower or a robotic lawnmower? Then strike now. Hardware stores and garden centers lure with many bargains. Furniture is also cheaper, because in September there are new designs, collections and colors in the furniture store. The warehouses must therefore be cleared out.

When temperatures rise outside, winter tire prices drop. However, you should pay more attention to the prices. In many cases there is still a severe bottleneck. Low demand and supply may keep prices stable. Nevertheless, ask in the specialist shop whether there may be discount offers.

It’s harvest time in the supermarket. Fruit and vegetables are therefore particularly cheap. Buy more tomatoes, cucumbers, spring onions, fennel, aubergines, courgettes, savoy cabbage or salads. At the fruit counter you can grab apricots, peaches and plums. This saves you a lot of money.

FOCUS Online advises: Take advantage of the oversupply of fruit to make jams for the winter.

The European Central Bank will raise interest rates in July. This automatically leads to interest rate increases on loans. If you slip into the overdraft facility, you should be careful and possibly take countermeasures with a significantly cheaper personal loan. The interest rate could rise from 9.4 percent to over 12 percent in the overdraft facility.

Check whether you are not already ordering heating oil. The prices increase with the heating period from the end of September.

Employers receive an energy allowance of 300 euros (gross) with their salary in September. This sum is automatically deducted from the salary. FOCUS Online advises: put the money aside. You will need it at the latest for the ancillary costs, electricity and gas annual bill.

In September you can also go on holiday cheaper. The high season in summer ends for many holiday areas. There are decent bargains. For example Crete for two people and seven days in a 4-star hotel from Munich for a mere 600 euros.

If you want to travel by bus, train and rail at Christmas, you should book now. Rule of thumb: The cheapest offers are available six weeks before the planned trip.

Televisions, sound systems, printers and PCs are also available at lower prices in September and October. Reason? Manufacturers then release new models. It is worth making provisions especially for the Christmas business.

There are also price adjustments for smartphones. For example, Apple is introducing a new iPhone model (possibly on September 13). This automatically leads to price reductions for older smartphone models from Apple, Samsung, Huawei and others.

In the supermarket it is worth buying apples, pears and carrots. The fruit is particularly cheap. At the beginning of the harvest, there is usually an oversupply of grapes – for correspondingly little money.

Farmers and traders negotiate the price of milk and butter. There could be a sharp jump in price here again. Keep an eye on developments and stock up on long-life milk towards the end of September. The current price for a liter of whole milk is 1.09 euros.

Note that many property management companies take readings from hot water, electricity and radiator meters in September and October. Make a note of the corresponding values ​​so that you can determine how much heating oil, gas or electricity you have used in the current year.

Buy baking ingredients for Christmas cookies in the first days of November. Discounters in particular then lure with special offers. You will then generally get away cheaper than if you only buy these products at the beginning of December. As a rule, the prices for baking ingredients increase from the end of November due to the high demand.

This year’s Black Friday takes place on November 25th. Online shops and bricks-and-mortar retailers then lure you in with decent price reductions.

November 30th is the annual deadline for changing car insurance. Compare providers and take advantage of new customer discounts.

Ideally, you should have your bike inspected annually in November or December. The prices for spare parts are then cheaper, as the big rush to bicycle workshops follows in the spring.

Between November and December you can also buy cycling shorts, bathing suits, parasols or summer tires for your car. Ideally, you save up to 40 percent.

Companies also pay vacation pay in December. FOCUS Online advises: Be economical with the money. In January bills from insurers flutter into the house.
