Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) has spoken out against a ceasefire on Russian terms in Ukraine. “No one but Putin started this war, and if Putin wants it, then the war will be over tomorrow,” Baerbock told the “Bild am Sonntag”. “All he has to do is order his soldiers to withdraw. But unfortunately there are anything but honest indications of this.”
The situation is worst for the people in the occupied territories. “Not only is there a lack of electricity and heat here, not even international aid deliveries come through here. Every day people live in fear of being kidnapped, tortured, murdered by the Russian occupying forces.”
The people there wanted nothing more than freedom and security for their families at Christmas. “A ceasefire on Putin’s terms would not end their terror, on the contrary.”
