Press Secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, said he believes the former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is a bad omen for the whole with which he is dealing. He commented on the situation with the possible return of the former President into politics as a member of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in his interview to RTVI.

"Like, I’ve read media reports, this idea was abandoned. We can say – and thank God. Saakashvili is of course a very bad omen. For Georgia – the country fell apart. Nothing good Odessa is not received, for Odessa is also a bad sign. Bad luck was, and for President Poroshenko, who have employed it – bad luck, his rating fell slightly after that," he said

This Peskov said that the government of Ukraine is not the Russian side.

April 22, Saakashvili said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky suggested that he take the post of Deputy Prime Minister for reforms in the government of Denis Smagala. On 28 April the government of Ukraine has withdrawn from the Verkhovna Rada representation on its purpose.

The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in 2015 invited Saakashvili to the country gave him citizenship, and was appointed head of the Odessa region. However, soon between them there was a conflict. In July 2017, Poroshenko deprived Saakashvili of citizenship, and soon he was expelled from Ukraine.
