A six-year-old girl from Ukraine died after an accident on the A4 near Erfurt in the direction of Frankfurt am Main. As the police announced on Sunday afternoon, three other people were seriously injured in the accident between the Erfurt Ost and Erfurt West junctions

According to the police, a 61-year-old driver drove his car off the road to the right and crashed into a car on the shoulder that was initially parked there for unknown reasons. A family from Ukraine was in the car.

The 37-year-old father, the 38-year-old mother, their six-year-old daughter and their two-year-old son were immediately taken to a hospital with serious injuries. However, the six-year-old girl died there from her injuries. The 61-year-old who caused the accident escaped with minor injuries.

The A4 remained completely closed in both directions for three and a half hours. The detour was lifted around 3:00 p.m. and the freeway was reopened. According to the police, a backlog of up to eight kilometers formed “and there were massive impairments on the detour routes through Erfurt due to the heavy return traffic after the long Ascension weekend”.

According to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, insurance brokers report that Allianz wants to get rid of hundreds of medium-sized companies by increasing prices by up to 400 percent.
