Officials and survivors reported that six bodies were recovered by rescuers after a cargo ship collided with a ferry transporting dozens of people. The incident occurred along a river in Bangladesh.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many were still missing.

Rozina Akhter, a Fire Service official, said that they couldn’t determine the number of people onboard the ferry. Local media reported that between 30-50 people were aboard the ferry at the time of the collision in Narayanganj just outside Dhaka.

Poor navigation and lax enforcement are two main reasons why ferry accidents are so common in Bangladesh.
