Even the storm clouds of a pandemic coronavirus are unable to permanently lower the barrier on the way to most of the archaeological monuments of Belarus, says Deputy Director on scientific work of Institute of history national Academy of Sciences Vadim Lakiza.

Adding in an interview with BelTA in connection with the epidemiological situation in the country “was taken certain restrictive measures, but they let you slightly reduce the amount of archaeological research”. Moreover, according to him, the continued rescue research in the areas of industrial buildings of the Republic.

As conceived by scientists, this tourist object, which has already been told “the UNION,” will include six Museum complex that will reflect the characteristics of the development of material and spiritual culture of different historical periods – from the stone age to the middle Ages.

It is here in parallel with scientific research on the already studied parts of the archaeological monument builders and recreate the ancient encampment: residential and commercial buildings, matching the history and culture of each period. After him came the old Germanic farmstead and settlement of the Slavs II-IV and V-IX centuries of our era.

In the construction zone, said Lakiza, this year, scientists have studied the archaeological monuments of stone, bronze and early iron ages. “This is very important material to characterize the material and spiritual culture of primitive people who inhabited the land several thousand years ago. They include pottery fragments, stone drill axe Scythian arrowhead. On the basis of these materials, the reconstruction artifacts that will be included in the exposition of the archeological Museum under the open sky”, – said the scientist.

Place of research was the area of the future construction of the pipeline on the territory of Gomel and Mogilev regions. The expedition of Institute of history under the leadership of Anna timofeyenko already surveyed the territory for about 200 km of forests, grasslands, floodplain, and terraces of rivers. According to Lacity identified hundreds of interesting artifacts, including stone and flint tools, fragments of moulded pottery and ceramics, metal products.

And on the construction site of the Nezhin mining and processing plant investigated two archaeological monument near the village Obcin: the stone age and the middle Ages. “Everyone but��th subject, revealed during the excavations is very important for us. A different flint tools, stone tools, ancient pottery, artefacts made of iron, and even an arrowhead” – told about the findings of the historian.

Discovered a new archaeological monument in the city of Gomel in the Belarusian region, which belongs to the Mesolithic and Neolithic. It is valuable because of the cultural layer is covered by peat. This makes it possible to identify archaeological objects made of bone and horn, wood. After all, under the peat, without oxygen, organic matter is stored for a long time.

But archaeologists under the direction of Olga Levko work in Polotsk, where to the North of St. Sophia Cathedral – the first stone building on the territory of Belarus – to build a cadet school. Here they found traces of several wooden buildings of the XII-XVIII centuries. Moreover, searchers have found the weights, Oriental and European coins, fragments of amphorae. Even cross in Scandinavian style, which dates from the tenth century.

excavations have been carried out, said Lakiza, and on-site Revinskogo peat in the Vitebsk region, which is estimated by researchers as one of the most unique complexes of Neolithic and bronze age in Eastern Europe.

Another expedition of the Institute of history works near the village of Cocorico in the Brest region. There is also, according to historians, traces of ancient settlements, artifacts of the Neolithic and bronze age.
