Another country predicted to benefit from the pandemic

In Estonia, coming this summer is projected to be “a real boom” domestic tourism due to pandemic coronavirus. That opinion has been shared by the Dean of the faculty of tourism and restaurant business University Estonian entrepreneurship minor Maris Nigo, writes Delfi.ee.

According to her, it is predicted that with the introduction on the background of the outbreak restrictions Estonians will not “other alternatives” to stay in their own country. “It is obvious that this summer residents of Estonia will travel the country a lot,” she said.

The expert also believes that most citizens do not dare to go to other countries even if the borders are opened. Thus, local resorts and tourist object “will benefit from this situation” and will benefit.

Nagu stressed that the main method of attracting customers in the new season is compliance with safety, sanitary norms and rules of social distance.

On 16 April it was reported about another country who received benefits during a pandemic in Tajikistan was recorded a significant increase of tourists. In the first quarter of the year the country was visited more than 296 thousand foreign tourists, which is 81 thousand more than in the same period in 2019.
