Dozens of people were arrested, many police were injured in clashes during major protests Black Lives Matter in Seattle, reports Reuters with reference to the municipal police.
According to law enforcement officers used non-lethal weapons in attempts to disperse thousands of demonstrators in the late afternoon, after some protesters torched the construction site of the prison and the courthouse.
By the evening, “police made 45 arrests in connection with the riot in the Eastern district,” writes the Seattle police in his post on Twitter.
It said that “21 an officer was injured as a result of falling stones. Most of the officers were able to return to service. One was treated at a hospital for a knee injury”.
President Donald trump said Thursday that he has extended the deployment of the Federal police in Seattle, angering local officials and stoking the anger of the protesters.
