ALROSA moved diamond auctions from Hong Kong

ALROSA, the largest diamond company in the world, moved from Hong Kong in March auctions to sell special size diamonds and diamonds.

ALROSA held each year in Hong Kong four auctions on sale of special size diamonds and two diamond tender.

“ALROSA has decided to transfer to other locations of the auctions on sale of special size diamonds (more than 10.8 carats) and diamonds, which were to be held in March in Hong Kong”, reported in the company’s notice.

Instead, ALROSA will hold a diamond auction in Moscow from 2 to 18 March 2020.

“the organizers of the largest jewelry fair in Hong Kong, in which we annually participate and conduct auctions and tenders for selling of rough and polished diamonds, took the decision to postpone it from March to the second half of may, — said Deputy General Director of “Dynamo” Evgeny Agureev. We also adjusted their business plans and postponed the auction scheduled for March at the exhibition to other locations.”

“ALROSA” decreased sales in 2019 by 12% to 33.4 million carats. Revenue from sales of the diamond production amounted to 3,338 billion (-26%).
