Aksenov called Kieza great friend of Russia

The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov expressed his condolences in connection with death of Italian journalist, writer and public figure, repeated participant of the Yalta economic forum, Giulietto Chiesa, noting his courage in seeking to bring the truth about the Crimea.

Chiesa died at the age of 79 years. Previously, the cause of death was a heart attack.

"Talented journalist, writer, public figure, he was a great friend of our country, have repeatedly visited Russian Crimea, participated in the Italian delegation to the Yalta international economic forum. Giulietto Chiesa, unlike many of their Western counterparts, never afraid to go against political expediency and told the truth about the Crimea", – wrote Aksenov on his page in the "Vkontakte", noting that he personally knew the journalist.

Aksenov added that Chiesa has done everything to bring this truth to the international community, to break the propaganda myths, to break the information blockade of the Peninsula.

"I Express to the families and friends, Giulietto Chiesa deepest and sincere condolences. The bright memory of him will forever remain in our hearts", – wrote Aksenov.

Chiesa over 20 years working in Moscow correspondent of the Italian newspaper l'Unita and La Stampa. In 2004 he was elected MEP, he worked in a number of other parliamentary committees, was a member of the delegation from the parliamentary Commission EU-Russia. In 2010 he founded in Italy the social-political movement "Alternative".
